This commercial photoshoot for Topas Ecolodge Sapa Resort – an iconic eco-resort in Sapa – aimed to reposition its image and optimize conversion rates on OTA platforms. By mastering the harsh mountain microclimate and applying advanced architectural photography techniques, the project perfectly captured the original luxurious beauty, rustic materials, and the absolute harmony of the structure with the majestic nature.
Assignment and Challenge:
The branding challenge: Elevating the "eco-luxury" image for an advertising campaign targeting high-end international customers requires imagery that exudes exclusivity and the value of local materials.
Field challenge: Sapa's microclimate, with its dense fog and sudden rainforest downpours, required the crew to not only be highly skilled but also possess keen meteorological analysis abilities to avoid missing the rare moments of clear skies after the rain.
Technical solution:
Interior: The design utilizes a flambient lighting technique combined with a high-powered strobe lighting system. This enhances the vibrant texture of the white granite walls without overexposing the valuable valley view from the balcony.
Exterior (Hero Shot): Instead of flying the drone randomly, we calculated the sun's trajectory (solar tracking) to capture the perfect moment when the golden sunset light spreads evenly across the entire valley, creating an image with a dramatically increased Click-Through Rate (CTR).
